This show really amazed me. Such wordly, old-sounding music, coming from such young musicians.
The room was pretty small, and the crowd was very enthusiastic. Thanks to the band, the club, and to Andrew,
who hooked me up with this whole thing, and is wroking on producing a DVD--watch out!
And, of course, thanks to thir13en for doing a great job with the matrix. I think it sounds fabulous!

This was interesting stuff. Can't say I'd listen too often, but it's really cool music.
So I go to their website to see what's up, and they've cancelled the tour because
"... Zach was briefly hospitalized for extreme exhaustion."

Ouch. Well, YLTfan caught them before this unfortunate event, so check them out while you can,
in a real nice blend of sources. It's very lively with a real nice atmosphere to it.

Notes:

The venue is a very small bar with two rooms in a right angle from the stage.
It was very full and the crowd was loud and drunken/stoned. Because of that there
is a lot of talking through the music. On the other hand this huge crowd brought
some nice singalong on the right tracks...

Der Laden ist ziemlich klein, und der Raum ist in einem rechten Winkel von der Bühne
aus zweigeteilt. Keine optimale Aufnahmesituation. Dazu waren extrem viele Leute da, die
ziemlich durchgängig voll/dichtg waren und die ganze Zeit gesabbelt haben.
Zwar stört das Sülzen während der Lieder, aber durch die Menge der Leute gabs auch schönes
Mitgegröhle bei den richtigen Liedern...

The mic configuration for this recording was a hybrid of an A/B omni split and binaural
since the mics were located near my temples as opposed to being in my ears so this ensures
greater compatibility with speakers. However, headphones are recommended to reap
the benefit of a binaural recording.
The show itself was on a special tour that was meant to recreate a bonus feature on
the special DVD edition of KT's latest record "Drastic Fantastic" where KT and her band
were playing songs from the album around a campfire and were using acoustic instruments.
So in effect, this is basically KT Tunstall unplugged.
There is a bit of crowd noise as this was a less-than-open situation
(basically KT's taping policy is don't ask, don't tell) but during the songs, the audience was fantastic.
I was seated on the far right-hand side of the room and since I used omnis, there is a bit
of boominess as the Danforth Music Hall is an old restored Vaudville theatre.
I hope you enjoy this recording just as much as I enjoyed attending the show and capturing it.
